In October 2009 Simon Cowell announced that he had become a Patron of Children's Hospices UK. He regularly visits the Chase Hospice in Guildford and invites the children along to the X Factor every year.
Harry's Million is a campaign for Richard House, London's first children's hospice, which provides care and support for life-limited children and children with complex health-care conditions and their families.
Simon's Mum Julie is their Honorary President and has sucessfully fought the disease herself. Simon is a patron of the charity and attends many functions.

Simon always finds time during his Christmas vacation to pop in and support this worthy cause.
Simon often attends events at the home, raising much needed funds for the charity.
Simon personally supports two of its branches. He is the Honarary President of the Bridlington branch. He is also a patron of the Brighton branch which his mum Julie also supports.
Through X Factor, Simon has also raised money for Help For Heroes, Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital and the Haiti Earthquake Victims.
